This KS2 Rise and Read resource includes four reading activities focusing on the artist, L.S. Lowry. It is suitable for use in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 and could be displayed on the whiteboard as early morning work, used in reading or even as a stimulus in assemblies. However you choose to use it, children will not only sharpen their reading skills but also learn more about an inspirational artist.
The pack includes a two information text, a diary entry and an image. These lead to questions which focus on a variety of reading skills: retrieval, purpose, vocabulary, inference and prediction. There is also an assessment-style question which focuses on discussing significance of L.S. Lowry's art.
This resource does not require any printing, as it has been specially designed to be displayed on the whiteboard.
