This KS2 Rise and Read London Marathon resource includes four reading activities focused on the famous long-distance running race. It is suitable for use in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 and could be displayed on the whiteboard as early morning work, used in reading lessons or even as a stimulus in assemblies. However you choose to use it, children will not only sharpen their reading skills but also learn more about the world around them.

The pack includes two information texts, an image and a narrative. These lead to questions which focus on a variety of reading skills: retrieval, purpose, vocabulary, inference and prediction. There is also an assessment-style question with a focus on inference. It is perfect for use alongside our other resources celebrating London, sport or sporting events.
