This KS2 Rise and Read resource includes four reading activities focused on World Mental Health Day, which takes place on October 10th each year. It is suitable for use in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 and could be displayed on the whiteboard as early morning work, used in reading or PSHE lessons or even as a stimulus in assemblies. However you choose to use it, children will not only sharpen their reading skills but also learn more about this important day.

The pack includes an information text, a diary, an image and a narrative. These lead to questions which focus on a variety of reading skills: retrieval, purpose, inference, explanation and prediction. There is also an assessment style question which focuses on the meaning of vocabulary.

This resource does not require any printing as it has been specially designed to be displayed on the whiteboard.
