This engaging UKS2 Ramadan Reading Activity will introduce your class to the month of Ramadan, a time of fasting, reflection, prayer and community for Muslims, through the eyes of a child.

The story follows a fictional character, Alisha, a young Muslim girl that wakes up early to eat her first meal before Fajr prayer, and then continues her day while fasting at school.

The story is followed by reading comprehension questions that ensure children have understood the text, as well as gaining some understanding of Ramadan and its importance to Muslims.

Children also have the opportunity to write a structured paragraph about the lessons that Ramadan helps teach, and draw pictures to help describe Alisha's story.
