Anti-Bullying Week
If you are looking for a great way to explore bullying, kindness and speaking up in KS1, these Year 1 and Year 2 Anti-Bullying Week Discussion Cards are an ideal resource.
The pack contains 20 discussion cards. Each one presents a realistic scenario that Year 1 and Year 2 children may recognise from the classroom or playground, followed by open questions that encourage children to think, talk and share ideas.
The scenarios cover a range of situations: being left out of a game, unkind jokes and nicknames, joining in with others, welcoming a new classmate, saying sorry and passing on stories. Some cards also help children tell the difference between bullying and one-off unkind behaviour. A set of cards focuses on telling a trusted adult, including what to do if someone asks you to keep a secret, if an adult doesn’t hear you the first time, or if you receive an unkind message online.
The cards are perfect for circle time, PSHE and RSHE lessons or small group talk during Anti-Bullying Week. They work equally well at any point in the year when you want to promote kindness and inclusion in your classroom.
