Looking to teach practical place value? This Year 1 Compare Numbers to 20 Supporting Activity is perfect! Aimed to be completed in threes, two children will generate numbers within 20 and the third child will compare them. They will write the accompanying comparison statement.

This game is ideal to complete as an extension at the end of your lesson. It could even be used as an intervention or set up in your provision!

  • Read and write numbers from 1 to 20 in numerals and words
  • Identify and represent numbers using objects and pictorial representations including the number line, and use the language of: equal to, more than, less than (fewer), most, least
  • Compare and order numbers from 0 up to 100; use <, > and = signs
