Introduce estimating for the first time with this Year 1 Estimate on a Number Line Varied Fluency resource. This activity includes two worksheets where children will estimate the position of numbers on number lines. They will use the halfway point on each number line to support their estimating. Children should learn that estimating does not have to be exact.

On the first worksheet, children have blank increments on a number line to complete. The second worksheet takes things a step further by giving children a selection of numbers to place on the number line.
