With two questions to work your way through, this resource is designed to give children the opportunity to practice using and applying their knowledge and understanding of punctuation and contractions with quick-fire questions.

Ideal for independent use, this resource is versatile in its uses and could be given as an assessment task or be used as an activity to complete at the beginning or the end of the day. The choice is entirely yours!

National Curriculum Objectives:

  • English Year 2: Use apostrophes to mark where letters are missing in spelling and to mark singular possession in nouns [for example, the girls name]
  • English Year 2: Use subordination (using when, if, that, because) and co-ordination (using or, and, but)
