Let children apply their knowledge of place value, addition and subtraction to this Year 3 2-Digit and 3-Digit Numbers Reasoning and Problem Solving resource. Children will be presented with two different reasoning style questions and a problem-solving style question, with two of each question type. If you're in need of differentiation, we've covered that already. This resource has three levels of differentiation giving you choice and challenge in your class.

We'd recommend using this after a set of varied fluency questions. You can find these within the accompanying resources for this lesson. It makes an ideal independent activity to be completed in lesson, or open up the discussion and encourage mathematical reasoning by using it as a paired activity. We've included a handy answer page for children to refer to as a peer or self-assessment tool, or simply use it to speed through your marking!
