There's no need to spend time making an assessment for the first week back at school. Use our Year 3 Baseline GPS Assessment instead. This resource includes 15 questions that will test children on objectives from Year 2 to check their understanding and recall. The assessment will give you valuable data, such as identifying gaps in knowledge and inform ideas for future learning.

This is an ideal resource to use within your autumn term assessment week to get a feel for where children are with their grammar, spelling and punctuation knowledge. You could also use this during an intervention session to show progress made. It comes with answer pages to make marking easy and an information page at the start which shows how the questions link to the curriculum objectives. As an added extra, we've included an Excel spreadsheet that can be used as a tracker tool.
