Characters often say one thing when they mean another. In writing, we can let the reader know both. This Year 3 Croc and Bird Writing Unit Character Voice and Thoughts worksheet allows children to explore their understanding of what a character might say out loud in a moment, but also what they might be thinking.

This worksheet has been presented in two ways to give you choice. Either present a single moment for the children to explore or provide the children with the comparison sheet where they can also consider character development and similarities and differences.
