Allow children to get to grips with measuring length by downloading our Year 3 Metres, Centimetres and Millimetres resource. We've created three colourful and engaging varied fluency questions, and two of each type of question, for children to apply their skills to. This resource has also been differentiated three ways to support all learners. Here is a brief guide to how our differentiation is suitable for each level of challenge:
Developing) Questions to support measuring in millimetres (mm) or centimetres (cm) only.
Expected Questions to support measuring in millimetres (mm), centimetres (cm) and metres (m) with some mixed units, using increments of 1cm and 1mm. Objects placed at different positions on the ruler.
Greater Depth Questions to support measuring in millimetres (mm), centimetres and metres (m) with mixed units, using increments of 1cm and 1mm. Objects placed at different positions on the ruler, with some increments not shown.
Our varied fluency resources are ideal for use in class following your teaching input. They can be accessed independently for children to secure their knowledge of measuring in different units of measure. Alternatively, you could use this as a homework activity or an internvention resource to further children's learning or for those who might require extra support.
