Our Year 3 Tenths Mixed Activity provides a combination of fluency, reasoning and problem-solving, all on one sheet! Children will explore the idea that a tenth arises from splitting something into 10 equal parts before applying the skill to challenging problems. This resource has been designed for independent learning and comes complete with its own answer sheet.

Differentiation:

(Developing) Questions to support recognising tenths. Using fractions with pictorial support in

the form of rectangles only.

(Expected) Questions to support recognising tenths. Using fractions and some words with

some pictorial representations in the form of rectangles and circles.

(Greater Depth) Questions to support recognising tenths. Using fractions written as words.

Some pictorial representations in the form of pentagons and decagons. Shapes are

shaded randomly.
