Using Prepositions to Express Cause Application and Reasoning

Worksheet

Use this Year 3 Using Prepositions to Express Cause Application and Reasoning worksheet to challenge pupils' understanding of how to use a preposition to express why something happened. With one application and two reasoning questions, children are asked to explain whether changing a preposition in a sentence changes its meaning, write a sentence using a given preposition and explain whether a preposition makes sense in a sentence. Our modelling PPT is an ideal accompaniment to this resource as it models how to answer these questions succinctly and builds children's confidence before they have a go independently.

This differentiated resource provides you with a choice of three levels meaning that there is something for everyone to access. The answers are also provided to make marking quick and easy.
