Use this Year 4 Direct or Indirect Speech Main Activity worksheet to support children with their understanding of Direct and Indirect Speech. With three varied fluency, one reasoning and two application questions, children are given the opportunity to practise answering questions which require the need to use either direct or indirect speech.

This resource would make an excellent assessment for teaching staff to use to gauge what the children understand about direct and indirect speech. It comes with a useful answer sheet to help with self or peer marking.
