Use this Year 5 Estimate and Compare Angles Varied Fluency resource to ensure that your pupils can identify different types of angle by eye and estimate their size.
In the first question, they have the chance to consolidate the key angles that they will use throughout the step to estimate other angles. In the second question, they progress to making estimates with key angles provided (as broken lines) to guide them. In the final question, they move on to drawing angles of different sizes. It is essential that rulers are available for this task however, they do not require protractors at this stage.
Each question has two similar parts to encourage confidence and an answer key is provided for teachers and pupils who are marking their own work.
A reasoning and problem solving resource is also available for this small step.
