Worksheet

A Year 5 Problems with Line Graphs resource for children who are already confident in reading and interpreting line graphs. Our worksheets are differentiated 3 ways and contain 6 reasoning and problem-solving questions. Children will solve comparison, sum and difference problems as well as deciding which data set fits a given scenario. Each worksheet comes with its own answer sheet making peer or self marking that bit easier!

Differentiation:

(Developing) Questions to support solving problems using line graphs showing one set of

data using scales in increments of 1 or 2, where all increments are shown.

(Expected Questions) to support solving problems using line graphs showing up to two sets

of data using any scale where all increments are shown. Some points may fall between

marked increments.

(Greater Depth) Questions to support solving problems using line graphs showing up to two

sets of data using any scale where some increments are missing. Points may fall between

marked increments

Curriculum Objectives

  • Interpret and present discrete and continuous data using appropriate graphical methods, including bar charts and time graphs
  • Solve comparison, sum and difference problems using information presented in bar charts, pictograms, tables and other graphs
