Use this Year 5 Read and Interpret Two-Way Tables Reasoning and Problem Solving resource to give your pupils further practice reading and understanding two-way tables.
There are two reasoning questions and one problem solving question on this worksheet. The reasoning questions require children to use what they know about reading two-way tables to check whether an answer is correct. They then explain their ideas using mathematical language. The problem solving question requires them to think flexibly in order to give two different answers to the same question.
Each question has two similar parts to ensure pupils develop independence. An answer sheet is provided for teachers and children who may be marking their own work.
A varied fluency resource and a fluency matrix are also available for this small step.
