Support understanding of finding pairs of values with at least one multiple by using this resource.
This Year 6 Find Pairs of Values 2 Varied Fluency worksheet will help children understand how to enumerate and calculate pairs of values that could satisfy an equation, where one of the unknown values is a multiple (e.g. 2a + b = 7). They will begin by using a table to systematically work through possibilities, then write lists to organise pairs of values that satisfy an equation and finally choose pairs that could possibly satisfy a given equation. All 4 operations are used within the equations. All answers are given so that marking is as simple as possible!
A reasoning and problem solving resource is also available for this small step, as is a fluency matrix that covers both this step and the preceding small step (find pairs of values 1).
