Help children to form a clear understanding of using simple algebra with this ready-to-complete Year 6 Form Expressions resource. We've created three different question types for children to practise the skills required for this objective and there are two opportunities per question style. This resource has been differentiated three ways to support all learners. Below is a brief outline of how each level of differentiation differs per level of challenge:
Developing: Questions to support creating simple algebraic expressions using addition and multiplication. Pictorial support given for some questions.
Expected: Questions to support creating simple algebraic expressions, using all four operations. Pictorial support given for some questions.
Greater Depth: Questions to support creating simple algebraic expressions using all four operations and decimals. No pictorial support given.
Use this resource as an independent learning activity for children to showcase their skills. Alternatively, this could be used in a small intervention group to either challenge children further or to provide more support to those who need it. A clear and concise answer sheet has been provided to aid marking or this could be used for peer or self marking too.
