This Year 6 Geometry Mistake Investigators includes a range of reasoning and problem-solving style questions that are similar to ones that children may encounter on their SATs papers. The questions are designed to be answered in groups to promote discussion. The questions cover a range of geometry topics such as comparing and classifying shapes, recognising angles, and illustrating and naming parts of circles.

If you're looking for something that will help your children develop their skills and help them to become more investigative learners, you're in the right place.

Curriculum Objectives

  • Compare and classify geometric shapes based on their properties and sizes
  • Describe simple 3-D shapes
  • Draw 2-D shapes using given dimensions and angles
  • Recognise and build simple 3-D shapes, including making nets
  • Find unknown angles in any triangles, quadrilaterals, and regular polygons
  • Recognise angles where they meet at a point, are on a straight line, or are vertically opposite, and find missing angles
  • Illustrate and name parts of circles, including radius, diameter and circumference and know that the diameter is twice the radius
