Begin the Year 6 unit on 'light' with this lesson on how light travels.

In this Year 6 PowerPoint, pupils will recap prior learning about light from Year 3 before learning about natural and man-made light sources. The key learning is that light travels in straight lines, so children will investigate this through an experiment into placing pieces of card with holes in directly in a torch's beam and moving the card to explore how it impacts the beam of light. Using our science investigation template, they will predict what will happen, conclude the experiment and present results in both a table and as a diagram.
