Three steps into long division, and it's probably fair to say that some children might want a little support with it, and as wonderful teachers, you're happy to oblige. So why not try this Year 6 Long Division 3 activity - it is a supporting activity that can be played in groups in class or as part of a small intervention group. There are a list of required resources and a set of instructions provided to ease set up and to allow any supporting adult to lead the task. The activity comes in the form of a game to ensure children feel like their learning is fun!

  • Divide numbers up to 4 digits by a two-digit whole number using the formal written method of long division, and interpret remainders as whole number remainders, fractions, or by rounding, as appropriate for the context
