Year 6 children love fractions. We all know it. It's their absolute favourite thing in maths; I can guarantee it. So throw in multiplying those fractions by other fractions and you can bet your bottom dollar they'll go crazy for any worksheet that involves it! But, on the off chance, and I can't believe I'm saying this... on the off chance, some of your children aren't mad about multiplying fractions by fractions, we've got this Year 6 Multiply Fractions by Fractions game. It's a supporting activity, that can be part of an intervention, that gives your children a little more practice multiplying fractions by fractions.

Curriculum Objectives

  • Use common factors to simplify fractions; use common multiples to express fractions in the same denomination
  • Multiply simple pairs of proper fractions, writing the answer in its simplest form [for example, 1/4 × 1/2 = 1/8]
