This Year 6 Question Tags in Informal Speech and Writing Varied Fluency worksheet allows children to practise using question tags. It contains a range of varied fluency questions which can be completed independently or in pairs and it has been differentiated three ways to meet all your children's needs.

This worksheet can be used alongside our Modelling PPT for Question Tags in Informal Speech and Writing, as the questions are modelled and you can assess children's understanding and check for any misconceptions before they complete the appropriate worksheet.   • The difference between vocabulary typical of informal speech and vocabulary appropriate for formal speech and writing [for example, find out – discover; ask for – request; go in – enter]
  • The difference between structures typical of informal speech and structures appropriate for formal speech and writing [for example, the use of question tags: He’s your friend, isn’t he?, or the use of subjunctive forms such as If I were or Were they to come in some very formal writing and speech]
