This Year 6 War Child Reader's Theatre resource includes a range of activities to help develop children's fluency in reading: a Reading Fluency pack for children, a Reader's Theatre Teaching PowerPoint for modelling, and a Miscue Analysis intervention.

A timetable is included so that you can model fluency and expression through repeated oral reading and then watch your pupils develop throughout the week as they become more familiar with the text demonstrating their progression with expression, tone and volume.

A close reading exercise is included too, which questions children's understanding of the impact tone and expression have on the text, a phrase-marking activity encourages children to add their own expression to the text, and a feedback sheet to get children visualising the progress they've had across the week.
