This Addition and Subtraction KS2 Reasoning Test Practice uses a question from the 2016 Reasoning KS2 Paper 2 to allow children to get more practice with SATs-style questions. The resource has been differentiated six way and covers a range of national curriculum objectives across all of the KS2 year groups. Each resource is made up of 12 questions and focuses on adding and subtracting numbers using formal written methods. An answer sheet has been provided to save you time.


Curriculum Objectives

  • Add and subtract numbers with up to three digits, using formal written methods of columnar addition and subtraction
  • Solve problems, including missing number problems, involving multiplication and division, including positive integer scaling problems and correspondence problems in which n objects are connected to m objects
  • Add and subtract numbers with up to 4 digits using the formal written methods of columnar addition and subtraction where appropriate
  • Add and subtract whole numbers with more than 4 digits, including using formal written methods (columnar addition and subtraction)
