This KS1 Big Garden Birdwatch Record Book is a fantastic resource to support the big garden birdwatch with your class. The resource includes a sheet of common garden birds with their names to help children identify the birds they see. The second page of this resource can be photocopied multiple times to be made into a booklet for children to record the birds they spot. The final page of the resource can be used for children to record how many of each bird they saw. This could also lead to some data analysis and discussions with other children about what they saw.

This resource could be sent home as a project to complete over a period of time. Or it could be printed on large sheets of paper and completed as a class with the birds the children spot around school.
