An image of the Ways to Make 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 Learning Activity Resource

This EYFS Ways to Make 1 2 3 4 5 Learning Activity enables children to explore combining small amounts. Our small image cards can be cut out by an adult or the child could do this as part of the activity. Children then place the two cards in the circles, add the quantities together to work out the total. Encourage subitising where possible. Children could be given a target number, e.g. Find all the ways to make 4.

It covers the following objectives for children in reception:

(M-21) Count objects, actions and sounds.

(M-22) Subitise.

(M-25)Compare numbers.
