This EYFS More and Fewer to 10 Learning Activity enables children to practise counting using one to one correspondence by creating a second amount, that is either more, fewer or the same. There is also opportunity for children to develop their subitising skills by identifying the initial quantity prior to counting to check. This activity can also be completed practically as children can create the second amount with concrete resources.
It covers the following objectives for children in reception:
(M-21) Count objects, actions and sounds.
(M-25) Compare numbers.
(M-26) Understand the one more than/one less than relationship between consecutive numbers.
