This KS1 Christmas Nativity Character Hunt is a quick and interactive guided reading activity which teaches the story of the Nativity. It includes three slides per day for ten days, with a new character introduced and added to the Nativity scene each day. It works in conjunction with Nativity Character Hunt Characters and Answers.

While the children are not in the classroom, cut out the character for the day and hide it somewhere in the classroom. Challenge your class to find the character in the classroom!

Once the character has been found, reveal who they are by moving on to the second slide for the day. There is text to read and questions to answer. Once the discussion concludes, you can move to the third slide for the day to show the character, now in the scene. Repeat over ten days to teach the full nativity story!

• RE KS1: Recall and name different beliefs and practices, including festivals, worship, rituals and ways of life, in order to find out about the meanings behind them.
• RE KS1: Retell and suggest meanings to some religious and moral stories, exploring and discussing sacred writings and sources of wisdom and recognising the traditions from which they come.
