This KS1 Comparing Plants in Hot and Cold Regions PPT explores how plants survive in some of the most extreme places on Earth. Children will discover that many species of plants thrive in the Arctic. From flowering plants and shrubs to mosses and grasses, they will explore how these plants adapt to freezing conditions by growing close to the ground for warmth and protection.
The journey then continues to Death Valley, one of the hottest and driest places on Earth. Here, pupils will meet hardy desert plants such as Joshua trees and Desert holly and learn how these plants survive in such challenging conditions.
Throughout the presentation, children will answer questions, complete engaging tasks, and take part in activities that check their understanding.
