This resource contains a model text of a letter. This can be explored with your children as a good example of what you might expect them to write. Give them time to read the model text, analyse the vocabulary used and the sentence structures. What elements might they want to use in their own writing?

Then pupils can then use the writing frame to create their own letter. They may want to write out a first draft in their books and use this worksheet for a final copy to be proudly presented on the wall. Encourage children to use all the ideas, vocabulary and editing techniques they have learnt to produce a high-quality piece of writing.
