This KS1 Rise and Read Bodhi Day resource includes four reading activities focused on the Buddhist celebration, Bodhi Day. It is suitable for use in Years 1 and 2 and could be displayed on the whiteboard as early morning work, used in reading or RE lessons or even as a stimulus in assemblies. However you choose to use it, children will not only sharpen their reading skills but also learn more about the world around them.

The pack includes an information text, two short stories and an image. These lead to questions which focus on a variety of reading skills: retrieval, vocabulary, purpose, prediction and inference. There is also an assessment-style question which focuses on sequencing information as it is presented in the text.

This resource does not require any printing, as it has been specially designed to be displayed on the whiteboard.
