This Key Stage 1 Rise and Read Bonfire Night resource includes four reading activities focused on the celebration of Bonfire Night. It is suitable for use in Years 1 and 2 and could be displayed on the whiteboard as early morning work, used in reading or PSHE lessons or even as a stimulus in assemblies. However you choose to use it, children will not only sharpen their reading skills but also learn more about the world around them.

The pack includes a short story, a poem, an image and an information text. These lead to questions which focus on a variety of reading skills: inference, retrieval, vocabulary, effect and prediction. There is also an assessment style question which focuses on selecting true/false statements.

This resource does not require any printing as it has been specially designed to be displayed on the whiteboard.
