This KS1 Rise and Read Fairies resource includes four reading activities about these magical creatures: an information text, a short narrative, an image and a set of instructions. These are followed by questions that focus on a range of reading skills: retrieval, vocabulary, inference and prediction. There is also an assessment-style question.

It is suitable for use in Years 1 and 2 and can be displayed on the whiteboard as early morning work, used in guided reading sessions or shared during assemblies. However you choose to use it, children will develop their reading skills while learning more about these magical creatures.
