This Key Stage 1 Rise and Read The Titanic resource includes four reading activities focused on the Titanic. It is suitable for use in Years 1 and 2 and could be displayed on the whiteboard as early morning work, used in reading lessons or even as a stimulus in assemblies. However you choose to use it, children will not only sharpen their reading skills but also learn more about the world around them.

The pack includes a diary entry, information texts and an image stimulus. These are followed by a range of questions that explore different reading skills, including retrieval, understanding purpose, vocabulary, inference and prediction. The pack also includes an assessment-style question where pupils decide whether statements are true or false based on the text.
