Put your children's spelling knowledge to the test with this Key Stage 2 Adding Prefixes and Suffixes to Make New Words Test Practice resource. We've included four levels of differentiation that can be used one per key stage 2 year group, or use all four levels of challenge in each year group. This is a great resource to assess any gaps in children's learning and to plan future intervention groups. The beginner and easy levels include suffixes only whereas the expert and tricky levels include the use of prefixes and suffixes.

Differentiation:

Beginner Suffixes only with ‘-ly’ and ‘-ed’ endings.

Easy Prefixes (‘un-’, ‘dis-’, ‘re-’, ‘de-’) or suffixes (‘-ly’, ‘-ness’, ‘-ful’).

Tricky Prefixes (‘un-’, ‘dis-’, ‘re-’, ‘mis-’) and suffixes (‘-ly’, ‘-ance’, ‘-ed’, ‘-ness’, ‘-able’, ‘-ful’, ‘-ment’, ‘-ing’).

Expert A wider range of prefixes and suffixes.
