Put your children's tense skills to the test with this KS2 Past Tense Sentences Test Practice resource. We've created 12 sets of multiple-choice questions spread over two tests that will give children the opportunity to identify where the past tense has been used. This resource is differentiated and comes with four levels of challenge too.

Use this as part of your main lesson to check children's understanding of this concept. Alternatively, this can be used in the lead up to assessments to identify gaps in children's learning and inform any intervention groups you may need. It can also be used as a homework activity or an extension task too; the choice is yours. Each worksheet comes with an easy-to-follow answer page too.

Differentiation:

Beginner Two sentences to choose from with mainly 'ed' verbs.

Easy Three sentences to choose from with 'ed' and irregular verbs.

Tricky Three sentences to choose from with 'ed' and irregular verbs. Ambiguity is present to add difficulty.

Expert Four sentences to choose from with 'ed' and irregular verbs. Ambiguity is present to add difficulty.
