This KS2 War Horse Chapter 16 Whole Class Guided Reading Pack includes differentiated questions and activities based on chapter sixteen of the popular novel by Michael Morpurgo.

In this chapter, Joey is trapped in no man's land. The soldiers on either side call to him but every time he goes towards them, he is stopped by the barbed wire. Eventually, one soldier from either side cuts through their barbed wire and comes to Joey's rescue. The soldiers - one German, one Welsh - discuss the logistics of who should take the horse. The Welsh soldier takes Joey's rope and leads back towards the side Joey originally start the war on.

This pack contains colour-coded questions to ensure clear differentiation, as well as differentiated challenge tasks focussed upon adjectives, conjunctions, subordinate clauses and synonyms.
