Explore the world of the Anglo-Saxons with this LKS2 Time Travel Adventure. Designed to be used after teaching our LKS2 The Anglo-Saxons, Picts and Scots History Unit, this resource will immerse pupils in the year 925 CE in an Anglo-Saxon village.
The resource begins with a role play prompt for the whole class that is designed to be read alongside our Time Travel Adventure - Anglo-Saxons, Picts and Scots Soundscape.
There are then five activities for pupils to engage in:
Immersing: pupils identify artefacts from the era and consider their impact on the senses.
Becoming: pupils swap modern and historical artefacts.
Considering: pupils make decisions based on historic understanding.
Planning and Reporting: Pupils plan a weekly diary and write a postcard to send home.
Reflecting: Pupils answer questions based on their time travel experiences.
This resource is a fun way to end our The Anglo-Saxons, Picts and Scots history unit and, as it's linked to our history objectives, it's also a great way to assess pupils' understanding of the topic. For each activity, there are support and stretch suggestions to ensure all pupils can participate.
