Explore the world of the Vikings with this UKS2 Time Travel Adventure. Designed to be used after teaching our UKS2 The Vikings History Unit, this resource will immerse pupils in 9th century Britain.

The resource begins with a role play prompt for the whole class that is designed to be read alongside our Time Travel Adventure - The Vikings Soundscape.

There are then five activities for pupils to engage in:

• Immersing: pupils identify artefacts from the era and consider their impact on the senses.

• Becoming: pupils swap modern and historical artefacts.

• Considering: pupils make decisions based on historic understanding.

• Planning and Reporting: Pupils plan a weekly diary and write a postcard to send home.

• Reflecting: Pupils answer questions based on their time travel experiences.

This resource is a fun way to end our The Vikings history unit and, as it's linked to our history objectives, it's also a great way to assess pupils' understanding of the topic. For each activity, there are support and stretch suggestions to ensure all pupils can participate.
