This Year 1 Partition into Tens and Ones within 100 resource recaps some of the skills children have learnt previously to ensure they are ready to take on the Partition into Tens and Ones within 100 step. The resource is made up of three questions, all with child-friendly language to encourage some independence, all to do with the Year 1 step Tens and ones (to 50) that the children have already encountered. An answer sheet has also been provided.

  • Count to and across 100, forwards and backwards, beginning with 0 or 1, or from any given number
  • Count in multiples of twos, fives and tens
  • Count, read and write numbers to 100 in numerals
  • Identify and represent numbers using objects and pictorial representations including the number line, and use the language of: equal to, more than, less than (fewer), most, least
  • Given a number, identify one more and one less
