Do your class need another chance to practise their statistics skills? Let them try out our Year 3 Collect and Represent Data Homework for size! It includes two varied fluency questions and a reasoning question for children to complete and show their understanding of the objectives covered in this lesson. Each question has a represented set of data collected and a representation, such as a bar chart, as a way to represent the collected data too.

Use this as a homework activity, as the name suggests, to see what knowledge children have learnt throughout the week. Alternatively, this can be used as an extension task in class, or use it as an activity in an intervention session; the choice is yours! The answers are provided, so you can speed through your marking, or give children the chance to peer or self-assess their work.

Curriculum Objectives

  • Interpret and present data using bar charts, pictograms and tables
  • Solve one-step and two-step questions [for example, ‘How many more?’ and ‘How many fewer?’] using information presented in scaled bar charts and pictograms and tables
