This Year 3 How Many Ways? Reasoning and Problem Solving resource will help your pupils to think logically when working out possible combinations. The first two questions are reasoning questions which require them to check whether a statement is true and explain their thinking. The third question is a problem solving question which will help them to draw connections between their times tables knowledge and working out possible combinations.

An answer sheet is supplied to help teachers with their marking and pupils with self-marking.

A varied fluency resource is also available for this small step.
