Recognising Speech Prior Learning

Worksheet

This Year 4 Recognising Speech Prior Learning worksheet covers previous Y3 learning and is a fantastic resource to use to assess children's understanding of direct speech before they move on to the main lesson on using and recognising direct and indirect speech. With three varied fluency, two reasoning and one application question, children are asked to answer questions such as identifying where inverted commas have been used correctly as well as using them to write their own speech.

Use this resource as a way to assess children's prior knowledge before moving on or alternatively, this could be used for those children who are less confident with questions.
