Worksheet

This Year 5 Compare Volume worksheet includes two reasoning questions and one problem-solving question. It has been differentiated three ways to meet all your children's needs. This worksheet asks the children to explain possible volumes of 3D shapes and to consider the volume of two shapes combined. You can further support your children with this worksheet by using our modelling PowerPoint, which has a range of questions for you to model before children complete this worksheet. To make your marking easier we have provided an answer sheet covering all three levels of differentiation.

Curriculum Objectives

  • Estimate volume [for example, using 1 cm3 blocks to build cuboids (including cubes)] and capacity [for example, using water]
  • Use all four operations to solve problems involving measure [for example, money] using decimal notation, including scaling
