In this PowerPoint, pupils will learn key vocabulary linked to reproduction and understand how it ensures a species' survival. The lesson covers the key stages of reproduction with a focus on gestation periods and how these differ in a variety of mammals. Be sure to check the teachers' notes where supporting information is available.

For their tasks, children will research the gestation period of different mammals and present their findings using a bar graph. A worksheet is available to support this task. Then, they will write a guide to the reproduction of two groups of mammals that reproduce differently, monotremes and marsupials.
