Continue the Year 5 unit on 'living things and their habitats' with this lesson, What Are Naturalists and Animal Behaviourists?

In this Year 5 PowerPoint, pupils will learn about what naturalists and animal behaviourists do, with examples of each and information about the similarities and differences between their jobs.

For their tasks, they will have the chance to become animal behaviourists, describing the behaviour of an animal they know well, then writing a biography about a famous naturalist. Both tasks could be extended into English lessons for deeper writing opportunities, or kept within science as a chance to include writing across the curriculum.
