Support understanding of how to calculate angles in triangles by using this resource.

This Year 6 Angles in Triangles Varied Fluency worksheet helps children use the knowledge that all angles in a triangle add to 180 degrees to calculate the value of missing angles by using known facts about the four types of triangle (equilateral, isosceles, right-angled and scalene). Children will calculate one missing angle in different triangles in the first question, before applying that knowledge to more complex examples in the second question. Finally, they will identify the types of triangle in a set by using given information. All answers are also included so that marking is as easy as possible!

A reasoning and problem solving resource and fluency matrix are also available for this small step.

Curriculum Objectives

  • Compare and classify geometric shapes based on their properties and sizes
  • Find unknown angles in any triangles, quadrilaterals, and regular polygons
